@Hummerbie: Yeah, I've started seeing quite a few more WP websites out there that are more CMS based and not specifically for blogging - it's solid and reliable. Don't know much about how the development of J1.6 is going but if 1.5 is anything to go by, there are a few upgrading headaches in stores. Have done a few 1.5 'stable' upgrades only to find a few things that no longer function correctly - particularly with the recent tinymce updates.

@rich: If its just a Blog you need, WordPress can't be beaten especially from Version 2.6 and Up.

With that version WordPress is becoming a great alternative to use as a Free CMS for Building a Website as well.

Still Joomla! is growing into a better all integrated system if yo look at the upcoming version 1.6 where the section part is gone and you can have deeper categorie structures.

I use Joomla for quite a few sites and whilst I like the functionality and versatility, I think that there are better CMS' out there. Don't get me wrong, I still prefer Joomla and have got used to using it but for new users, Joomla is very difficult to get your head around and is a bit bloated for most needs (and can take a while for a site to load).

If I just wanted to blog, I'd use Wordpress instead - far easier to get your head around!
