Commercial Components
Looking for a complete set of Blog Components with full support?
You should checkout MyBlog which is a compelte Joomla blogging compontent and of course complete it with Jom Comment used by large traffice sites like Alledia.com and compassdesigns.net to help them with a large amount of Comments.
Both sites are well know websites in the Joomla landscape.
You see that Jom Comment can also be used as a “stand alone” comment system that can really fit all your Joomla site comment needs.
That’s it for now, more will follow…
Each of these components will get their own post, so you know why you should use them.

very good!
pl…send me the blog component as well as module for Joomla 1.0
@Raj: You can donwload the components by following the links in the post, especially the one for MojoBlog.
Ok…I’m in awe! If you’re using mojoblog, how’d you get the tag cloud in the module to the right?? And if this is mojoblog, i NEED to know how your comment section looks so pretty! (as in the alternating green posts)
Hey very good site, what’sthe name of your template? is it free? it’s beautifull simple and funcionally
p.s excuse 4 my english
@Sokjuice: If you look at the URL of this blog, you will see it is on a free WordPress.com account… I am promoting Joomla as a Blogging platform on one of the best Blog plaforms around.
But for Joomla there are some Tag Cloud Modules and Components, just do a search on the Joomla extensions website.
As for mojoblog, you could try to implement a WordPress tagcloud plugin since MojoBlog is based on WordPress.
@akira: The name of the template is Freshy, a Free WordPress template.
if you are looking for a nice and simple free Joomla template, go checkout http://www.joomlaos.de that is were I always go for inspiration and downloads.
Is there a way to create a blogging community site where users can login and create there own blogs using joomla? This would be similar to wordpress mu.
@li, You should look at the blog components in the Joomla extensions directory, components like xblog and mamblog should do fine.
do you know of a joomla blog component that will allow me to post my book list with current book, planned/future books, past books including a rating feature and allowing comments? It would also be nice if it could import book info based on ISBN. I’m using myblog.
thx.
@MA: YOu could have a look at http://www.reviewsforjoomla.com/ wich I think should cover about 80% of your needs
great job!
Hi! I can recommend our component for blogging and community building for Joomla! 1.5.2+ It named IDoBlog. For more info visit idojoomla.com
The link to RS-Syndicate doesn’t work… any suggestion where I can get a copy of that component? Thanks
David
@David: The RS Syndication component is not for Joomla 1.5 so it will not run on rou site, since you are on 1.5, which is a good thing!
You also run the MyBlog Component and to my knowledge there is a seperate setting for RSS Feeds, so I think you should post a support question on the Azrul site.
I am sure they will try to solve your problem as the Feed button above your latest post works, but it seems to have the wrong settings as it comes up empty.
Nice site, I love the Images on top.
could you give the download link idoblog pro. Thanks
@raja, please check out http://idojoomla.com/pricing.html
Hi, what do you advise a client to use who wants a blog with a couple of other menu items? Joomla or WordPress?
thank you!
@Marikins: If its just a few pages and the main idea is to use the blog, I would suggest WordPress.
Most certainly the new 2.8 version. If you need more idea’s on such a site have a look at my site http://wordpress-cms.hummerbie.com
Great post. Do you know any plugin allows me to convert WordPress to Joomla Blog?
Hey Hummerbie – any ideas on how to export mojoBlog content into Joomla? All the solutions I’ve found for importing WordPress stuff into Joomla doesn’t exist or doesn’t work anymore.
I am new to Joomla i wanna know how to add blog to my joomla site
@Chapula: There is no easy way to do this as you move your content from a WordPress platform into Joomla! which has a different table structure.
I found this article on the Joomla! forum that looks like the tool you need:
http://www.daydreymer.com/index.php/technical/tools/wordpress-export-to-joomla.html
@Asim: The easiest way is to use the Component from Azrul as mentioned above.
The cheapest way it to start writing articles in Joomla! in a separate section with a few blog categories to hold your keywords.
Hummerbie – I actually figured it out. It took me a couple of weeks, but I got everything ported over to Joomla.
